Her artistic home has been with Project Y Theatre Company, which she co-founded and is currently the co-Artistic Director. With Project Y she has developed and directed new work in Washington, D.C., New York City and internationally. She’s the creator and a Producer of Project Y’s yearly Women in Theater Festival, now entering its 11th year in NYC. Michole has directed many original shows that have toured regionally and abroad. Her directing work spans from new play collaborations with playwrights; to interactive and immersive new work works; to creating new forms of theatre for children and families; to new (often comedic) musicals; to (an extensive list of) solo theatre works; to big cast classic plays revisited and reimagined for today. She is a recipient of the SDC Gielgud Fellowship for classical directing. Her work has been supported by grants from The Puffin Foundation, ART/NY, NY Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA), The Dramatists Guild, and New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA). She holds an MFA in Directing from Rutgers University, Mason Gross School of the Arts and is an Associate Professor of Theatre at Middlebury College.
